antiquity.
there is something to say about something with a bit of wear and tear. No, the wear and tear on your old McDonald's styrofoam cup does not in fact make the cut. i am talking here about something that would be considered nice in the first place.
Nice stuff usually belongs to someone who has the pockets to support it, or has the taste that demands it. SO- to totally generalize here and probably offend someone, lets break this down further.
Word Usage.
These people have mastered the art of word confudging. they have discovered that they can use a different word to illustrate their little treasure.
take a rusty old bird house. place the word used and then the word worn in front of it. difference?
Worn.
this word makes life sound warm. worn has the ability to make something old have umph. a bit of shall we say- "cheekbones"
Used.
ick. you mean- someone probably got the best of it and then threw it at me? no. this won't do. if it were a body part- i think we would call this the tear duct- the kind with the goo.
in comparison to worn, this word describes a ratty t-shirt avalible for your use-
"only $3.99" whereas that worn shirt was loved- it truly deserves a place in your heart.
antiquity. worn. used.
what can I say? it works.
